Pearson International:

Pearson International is a British multinational publishing and education company headquartered in London, England. As of 2017, it is the largest education company, and it was once the largest book publisher in the world.

Pearson is the UK’s largest awarding body and is regulated by Ofqual (England), SQA Accreditation (Scotland), CCEA Accreditation (Northern Ireland) and Qualifications Wales (Wales). It offer academic and vocational qualifications that are globally recognized and benchmarked with educational excellence rooted in names like Edexcel, BTEC, EDI and LCCI. The academic qualifications include Edexcel GCSE, Edexcel A level, Edexcel International GCSE and the Edexcel Certificate (International GCSE for UK state schools).

Pearson’s vocational qualifications include Edexcel NVQ and BTEC from entry level to Higher National Diplomas (HNDs). BTECs are recognized in more than 70 countries worldwide.

Pearson has two main streams of business:

  • Global lines of business focuses on the school, higher education and professional areas (includes textbooks and digital technologies for teachers and students). Pearson’s school brands include BTEC, Bug Club, Edexcel, Fronter, GradPoint, Schoolnet, and SuccessNet. Pearson’s higher education brands include eCollege, Mastering/MyLabs, Revel, online tutoring (Smarthinking), and Financial Times Publishing.
  • Geographic streams focuses on North American market, growth markets, and core markets.

CanPEC and Pearson International

Canadian College of Science & Technology (CCST), a subsidiary of CanPEC, is a registered institution offering BTEC qualification; Higher National Diploma (HND). Business and Technology Council – BTEC is a specialist work related qualifications combining practical learning with subject and theory content. For details and admission click here.

The BTEC courses are equivalent to three A-Levels/FA and is recognized by IBCC and HSSC, Government of Pakistan. The BTEC assessment mode is 60% assignment and 40% examination based.
