BHIC students also benefit from university preparation and placement assistance. Students OUAC/OCAS application and university admission counseling. BHIC counseling staff gets together with student and parents to determine the best university choices for the siblings.

BHIC offers most of the required Ontario high school credits from Grade 9 to Grade 12. BHIC has implemented many core practices that produce proven results. A strong testament to this is demonstrated by the fact that a majority of BHIC students were accepted into a university program last year, with most attending universities in and outside Ontario.

BHIC also offers elementary classes to its students, from grades 1-8, as per Ontario curriculum.

BHIC Supportive Role for Students:

Apart from regular students, many students require help and support in continuation of their studies while simultaneously managing and handling on hand personal and family issues. BHIC extends its full support to such needy students.
  • Students looking for flexibility and choice.
  • Elite athletes whose competition schedule causes them to miss the classes needed to graduate. Arrangements are made to ensure that they are able to excel both in their chosen sports as well as academically.
  • Students who travel extensively during the school year and now need to accelerate their academics in order to catch up to classmates and earn the credits needed for university.
  • Students who have recently changed their career focus and need to pick up grade 12 credits to meet university requirements.
  • Students who need specialized attention in order to achieve academic success,
  • Students with IEPs (Individualized Education Plans) or who have identified learning challenges.
  • Home schooled students. Home schooling cannot sometimes meet the challenges of senior year courses especially required for University/College admissions. Beacon House online courses provide an alternative where students earn their high school credits towards OSSD and qualify for University/College admissions.
  • Students missing a credit or a particular credit not being offered at school.
